The new teaser of Captain America: Civil War is out and frankly it looks pretty amazing. So amazing that it makes you feel bad for Batman v/s Superman: Dawn of Justice. After all Tony Stark, Steve Rodgers and rest of the crew have had 12 movies to set up a shared universe while Dawn of Justice only has one.

The Plot

We’ve had a hint about the plot for a while. The government, unhappy with superheroes that they can’t control, are going to ask them all to register. This divides the Avengers as some are pro-registration and some are against it. As far as we know, the pro-registration lot includes Iron Man (Robert Downey Jr.) with Black Widow (Scarlett Johansson), War Machine (Don Cheadle), Vision (Paul Bettany) and Black Panther (Chadwick Boseman). Meanwhile, Captain America’s (Chris Evans) team consists of Falcon (Anthony Mackie), Winter Soldier (Sebastian Stan), Hawkeye (Renner), Ant-Man (Paul Rudd) and former Agent of S.H.I.E.L.D Sharon Carter (Emily VanCamp).

The Trailer

The trailer begins with the post-credits scene from Ant-Man which sees Steve Rodgers and Falcon catch up with Bucky AKA The Winter Soldier who seems to have been accused of some sort of terrorist act, an explosion we see, which Bucky denies being a part of.

This follows the arrival of General Thaddeus “Thunderbolt” Ross who was last seen in The Incredible Hulk credits. The General seems to be leading the charge to get all superheroes registered. We also get a look at something called ‘The Sokovia Accords’ which we guess refers to that little incident of in the Avengers: Age of Ultron when an AI created by Tony Stark tried to destroy the world. We also get our first look at the Black Panther who seems to be on Tony's side.

While in the comic books, the Civil War had to do with registration and the revelation of secret identities, that problem doesn’t exist in the film. So we guess it’s more to do with licensing superheroes. There’s also one brief glimpse of Martin Freeman’s character whose role is still unclear, but it’s believed he plays some role for the government and has to liaison with the superheroes.

Here are some important shots from the trailer:

General Thaddeus “Thunderbolt” Ross

The Black Panther looks beautiful.

Team Captain America on the move.

I wouldn't bet against the team that has the Scarlet Witch on its side.

Tony is not happy.

There is going to be hell to pay.

Even with his suit, this is a tough battle for the Iron Man.
