Akshay Kumar, is back in action, literally.

Khiladi Kumar doesn't seem to get enough of the genre as he returns to the silver screen with his latest action venture Boss.

The first trailer of the film is out and going by the looks of it, Akshay, who served the audiences generous portions of action in his recent films like Rowdy Rathore and Khiladi 786, seems to be sticking to the genre for some reason.

In the trailer, we see Akshay essaying the role of Boss who is the answer to bad cop Ronit Roy and a bunch of baddies who make life hell for the people of the area.

Like the previous films of this genre, Boss too is full of scenes where the hero shows his might by sending goons flying in the air and mouths lines like Humein kya hain, humein toh sirf paani nikalana hai!

Not only that, staying true to the genre's trademark cheekiness, Akshay is also seen giving witty replies to his rivals.

For example, when a goon asks him why is he standing to the right side of the frame and is hesitating to come in the centre, Boss replies Kyunki Boss is always right.

While Akshay is undoubtedly Bollywood's real action hero, we have seen some great performances by him in films like Hera Pheri, Oh My God!, Bhool Bhulaiyya and the very recent Special 26.

However, despite having so much to offer as an actor, we wonder why Akshay keeps repeating himself in mindless action flicks replete with episodes of forced humour.

On the brighter side, Akshay's look in the film (the backbrushed hair) reminds us of his younger days and there is no faulting the actor when it comes to action.

He delivers his kicks and punches with elan, performs his stunts to perfection and does it in style.

Directed by Anthony D'Souza, the film stars Mithun Chakraborty, Shiv Pandit, Ronit Roy and Aditi Rao Hydari.

Produced by Akshay, the film is set to hit the screens on October 16, 2013.

Watch the film's trailer here and tell us if this will be just another add on to the long list of mindless action flicks or will Akshay redeem himself from his past disasters like Khiladi 786 and Joker.
