Sonu Nigam outraged the nation for his comments against Islam, but why is Sonu Sood facing the backlash?
Updated : Apr 17, 2017, 07:12 PM IST
Sonu Nigam inflamed the entire Twitterati this morning when he posted in a series of tweets, saying that being woken up by an Azaan every morning isn't his ideal wake-up call, because he wasn't a Muslim. "God bless everyone. I'm not a Muslim and I have to be woken up by the Azaan in the morning. When will this forced religiousness end in India" was what he said.
His statements sent the entire country into a rage and Twitter retaliated by trolling him. Just a note for people on Twitter, though, maybe next time double check who you're going after!

I don't believe in any temple or gurudwara using electricity To wake up people who don't follow the religion . Why then..? Honest? True?

In a situation of deja vu, Twitter started going after Sonu Sood, confusing him with Sonu Nigam. This situation mirrors the Snapchat-Snapdeal mix-up that happened yesterday, where people uninstalled Snapdeal instead of Snapchat when they heard comments about Snapchat CEO's alleged comments of the app not being meant for a poor country like India. After a few hours of spirited trolling, the Twitterati finally realised their mistake and commented on the mix-up, pointing out the inevitable similarities to yesterday's blunder.
