BBC unveiled the first look of the much-awaited season four of Sherlock. Quite a warm up to the San Diego Comic-Con panel of the show at the end of this month.

The new image shows Sherlock Holmes, played by Benedict Cumberbatch, sleuthing on Baker Street with a new companion. Doctor John Watson is nowhere to be seen and a bloodhound is looking eagerly at the direction Holmes is pointing at.

Produced by Hartswood films, the show is currently filming for the last episode of season four. The new episodes are expected to air early in 2017.

Not much has been revealed to the media about the production of the series except for Toby Jones playing one of Sherlock Holmes' nemesis in this season. But if you are aware of the concept of 'Setlock' then you know exactly who is back and where and what they are shooting.

Earlier, in an interview with The Telegraph UK, showrunner Steven Moffat said that they are working with lesser known stories by Arthur Conan Doyle. He also hinted that this season could be the last one for the Detective and his Boswell.

The one-off special of the series, Sherlock: The Abominable Bride has been nominated in six categories for Emmys 2016 including Benedict Cumberbatch for Best Actor in a Limited Series.
