Akshay Kumar's films may be minting crores at the box-office, but this actor believes that Bollywood is not a profitable and wealthy industry.

Akshay said, “I hope this (good box office collection) continues every week because people have this misconception that the industry is a ‘sone ki chidiya’ (golden bird). According to me, this industry is striving on very few hits. I hope the industry receives several hits because this industry has the capability to give you a lot. But at the moment, the industry is going through loss," reports IANS.

Akshay Kumar had given major hits in the last year which includes films like  Baby, Gabbar Is Back and Singh Is Bliing that earned close to Rs.100 crore at the box-office. He had reportedly expressed for the movie Airlift to go tax-free but also mentioned that he was not aware of any development on the same.

In the same interview, he mentioned that he was very happy tohave gotten an opportunity to produce a movie like Airlift. He is so happy, said Akshay, that he could have jumped with joy for the fact that people have loved and appreciated the film so much.

Akshay Kumar further added that he would like to thank all people who have appreciated this film because he believes that such films usually reach only a certain point like 40 crores- 60 crores as it does not include songs, commerciality, item songs or even comedy.

Akshay will be  seen in Housefull 3 along with  Abhishek Bachchan and Riteish Deshmukh.
