Dipika Kakar just confirmed Simar and Prem are a real-life couple!

Dipika Kakar aka Simar from Sasural Simar Ka has finally broken her silence on her relationship status. The popular television actress has admitted that she's in love with her former co-star Shoaib Ibrahim. 

Dipika was already married to pilot Raunak Mehta before making her debut on television until last year when she filed for a divorce. Rumour has it that her growing proximity with Shoaib was the cause for their divorce. Now that the duo has gone public with their relationship, Dipika clarified that Shoaib had nothing to do with it.

According to a report published in The Times of India, while talking about her divorce Dipika said that it's not necessary for all love marriages to work. "Breaking off any relationship is difficult, almost traumatic. That's exactly what happened with me...Shoaib helped me pull through those difficult times. We were not dating then," she added.

Reportedly, both of them realised their love for each other after Shoaib quit  Sasural Simar Ka back in 2013. Shoaib recounts to TOI about the time when Dipika emotionally supported his family while his father was recuperating from brain haermorrhage.

Dipika also informed that she wanted to be sure that her relationship with Shoaib wasn't on the rebound and only after both of them were sorted and at peace did they decide to acknowledge it in public, reports TOI. The actress further revealed that both of them are saving up for a big fat Indian wedding (read destination wedding) to be held in Bhopal.
