They're more the norm than the exception now and in the latter half of 2014, expect more female-driven films to come your way. Kangana Ranaut (Queen), Madhuri Dixit (Gulaab Gang), Sunny Leone (Ragini MMS 2) and Vidya Balan (Bobby Jasoos) have all had films this year that revolved around their characters.

And there's more on the way. Here's a list of the most woman-tic films this year...

Hate Story 2 (July 18): Turning on the 'hate' full-blast is Surveen Chawla (know her?) in a vengeful hero-on-a-rampage act.

Mardaani (August 22): Rani Mukerji is a tough, no-nonsense cop out to crack a human-trafficking racket. Watching Rani go macho for this should be mucho fun.

Mary Kom (September 5): Priyanka Chopra plays passionate puglist in this biopic. Directed by debutant Omung Kumar, will this one have Priyanka delivering a knockout hit?

Finding Fanny (September 12): The number of times the trailer focuses on Dimple Kapadia's derriere you'd think you know what title refers to. But no. Homi Adajania's quirky film is about Angie (played by Deepika Padukone) and her search for her father's lost love (check).

Khubsoorat (September 19): Sonam Kapoor steps into the role Rekha played 34 years ago. The entire plot, including the various male characters revolve around our khubsoorat 'hero'. Sonam's sister is the producer. Also, Sonam opens 2015 as the female hero in Dolly Ki Doli, out Feb 6.

Sonali Cable (October 10): Newbie Rhea Chakraborty plays the title role in this saga of the rise of a girl from the ghetto. Ali Fazal, who plays her romantic interest jokes, "After Bobby Jasoos and Sonali Cable, I hope I get to play the title role in my next film."
