The seventh installment of Fast and Furious is a special film. For one, it ends the racy ride forever and second, Paul Walker, one of the main characters in the film, died in a car crash last year while the film was still getting shot. Thus, the buzz on it was huge, and by the time it released, it had become deafening. So it doesn’t surprise anyone to know that the film has managed to earn nearly Rs 81 crore (gross) in the last five days in India, as was reported by a reputed daily.

The Fast and Furious franchise has always been an important and successful one in India. But the seventh film has seen unprecedented collections here. Universal Pictures India has left no stone upturned to make sure that the reach of the film in India is by far the widest ever. Apart from 2D and 3D versions, along with its dubbed Tamil, Telugu ones, the film was also available on non -DCI compliant cinemas. It means the film even reached out to B and C centres.

Fast and Furious 7 opened in 2600 screens and registered the first day collections of approximately Rs 16.75 crore. The film has collected nearly $384 million worldwide in its first weekend, created a record of becoming the highest grossing film in 2015.
