On Saturday, Jyoti Singh Pandey’s ‘juvenile’ rapist was moved out of Delhi even as distraught parents of the victim kept on opposing his release, which was to take place on Sunday.

Delhi Commission for Women moved a plea against the release of the accused, which the Supreme Court has agreed to hear on Monday. At least one prominent Bollywood celebrity Farhan Akhtar has come forward to protest against the rapist’s release and asked that the honourable court’s decision be revised.

Asks Farhan, “Is the so-called juvenile really reformed? Keeping in mind that such is the law of the land, which in my humble opinion, requires a re-evaluation itself, there should be a series of psycho-analytical tests done on the man by leading experts in the field to understand if he is in fact reformed. If the tests to prove his reformation prove inconclusive, he should be tried again in a court of law as an adult.”
