Farhan Akhtar on his song for Women's Day

Farhan Akhtar has been addressing women's issues through his music and various social endeavours including MARD (Men Against Rape & Discrimination) an organisation devoted to protecting women's rights and the non-violation of a woman's private space.

This Women's Day Farhan will release a new song addressing the voice of innocence before it is corrupted by extraneous influences. Says Farhan, "Yes, I am doing my bit for Women's Day. I am releasing a song called 'We are all on the GoodSide' . A song about the world as a child sees it before his or her mind is corrupted with adult influences of prejudice, discrimination and bias. A song that calls for all of us to celebrate equality, not challenge it."

It is composed by Assamese guitar-musician-composer Kalyan Barua with whom Farhan has collaborated for the first time. Interestingly the lyrics for 'We Are All On The Goodside' are penned by Farhan. He has been exploring the poet's side to his personality in some of his recent songs.
