Farhan Akhtar in and as Sahir?

It is going to be quite a coming together of talent. Filmmaker-singer-actor Farhan Akhtar will star as writer-poet Sahir Ludhianvi in a bio-pic by director Jasmeet Reen who will also debut with this film.

Ashi Dua, who produced Bombay Talkies, will produce the project chronicling the life of Sahir Ludhianvi. While other details are still to be worked out, an insider reveals, “The film will focus on the poetry and the love between Sahir and author Amrita Pritam. They shared a stormy relationship  that lasted for  decades. Farhan is the natural choice for the role since his father is a poet and Farhan himself writes poetry.”

We also hear Farhan will be singing some of Sahir’s immortal lines.
