Far Cry 4 takes place in Kyrat, a mountain country at the border of Nepal and India where you play as Ajay Ghale who wants to carry out his mother's last wishes , to scatter her ashes at Lakshmana. You travel from America to Kyrat in order to fulfill this wish, having no idea of the role the place played in your parents lives. That being said, you play an active role in the story and your choices can lead the story to one of it's multiple endings.

When you arrive in Kyrat it is torn between Pagan Min in the north and the Golden Path in the south . The Golden Path has two main leaders Amita and Sabal and they have different opinions and philosophies on how things should move forward. Through your actions you shape the future of where the story goes, playing the decision maker and deciding who you agree with and what to do about that. The game also puts you in familiar territory with Hindi dialogues and text.

The gameplay revolves around story missions, liberating towers and attacking outposts and is also packed with a bunch of side missions to do . One interesting aspect that has been added to the game is that you can kill NPC's that will deliver narrative in the story and that affects the amount of story you can experience. The vehicles are particularly enjoyable with intuitive controls and the autodrive feature.

Far cry 4 revisits the mechanics of its predecessor , following through consistent style of map exploration, where the player has to climb towers and destroy certain objects to reveal the immediate are on the map. At the same time there is enough to make different from an exact replica. With the addition of fortresses, you get an added level of difficulty that was missing from the previous games. The map is designed to take advantage of the grappling and the wing-suits as the game takes place in the mountainous terrain. Side missions have also improved in terms of quantity and variance and give you additional playtime in the environment even after you have finished the central storyline.

The game is visually appealing, everything from the environment to the characters are beautifully crafted. The game really shines on the PC if you have the horsepower to fuel it. The music feels right to setting and really makes you feel like Kyrat is in the location they say it is.

The only cons are specific to PC where it feels like the game was designed for console and then ported to PC becaus of things like the weapons ring which was obviously not designed keeping the keyboard in mind and mouse-acceleration makes prcecise gaming difficult. All in all, Far Cry 4 has a lot to offer , a good story which is well written and has plenty of hooks to keep you engaged from the start, enjoyable co-op and plenty of things to do while exploring the beautifully crafted world.
