American singer-songwriter Bruno Mars is all excited for his 33rd birthday and has hired his fellow musician Ed Sheeran to sing 'Happy Birthday' for him.

Taking to Twitter, 'The Lazy Song' singer uploaded a video in which he can be seen tucking into a birthday cake adorned with letters spelling out his first name. Sheeran, playing the guitar, then sang a birthday song for Mars, adding: 'Happy birthday two-time Super Bowl-performing Bruno.'

"You know you've made it when you can hire Ed Sheeran to sing you Happy Birthday. #ExtraForever! #HappyBrunoMarsDay! ," read his caption.

Mars, known for his superhit songs including 'Uptown Funk' and 'That's What I Like', headlined the Super Bowl half-time show in 2014 and joined Coldplay and Beyonce for the 2016 edition.

The two global superstars will also go head-to-head at the American Music Awards in Los Angeles.
