Ranbir Kapoor to bring in his birthday with his aunt Rima Jain, who celebrates her 60th with all B-Town and high-society bigwigs from Delhi and Mumbai in attendance
Ranbir Kapoor and his aunt Rima Jain are having a joint birthday celebration tonight. While Rima turns 60 today, Ranbir turns 34.
Rima’s husband Manoj is sparing no effort and expense to make this a grand bash. Says an insider, “One’s 60th birthday is a big deal and Manoj wants nothing but the best for his wife. He is hosting a grand bash to bring in Rima’s birthday at Amadeus in Nariman Point and Ranbir too will be cutting the cake at this party because he shares his birthday with her.”
Adds the source, “It’s a long time since the Kapoor khandaan has got together, so it will be a large, loud Punjabi celebration with khaana and naach-gaana. Ranbir is currently shooting for Jagga Jasoos and will head for the party post pack-up.”
Rima’s older son Armaan has made a scrapbook of all the precious moments in her life collated from her birth to her marriage and motherhood with pics and letters she has collected over the years.
The guestlist
The entire Kapoor clan, including Ranbir’s grandmother Krishna, brothers Rishi, Randhir and Rajiv, sister Ritu Nanda, nieces Nitasha Nanda, Kareena (with Saif) and Karisma, are coming for it with their families, along with Rima’s close friends — Farah Khan, the Bachchans, Karan Johar, Kaajal Anand, Shweta Nanda, the Dhawans (David, Lali, Rohit and Varun), Chunky and Bhavna Pandey, Shobha, Ekta, Jeetendra and Tusshar Kapoor and Sanjay and Maheep Kapoor.
RK’s last birthday
Last year, Ranbir celebrated his 33rd birthday on the sets of Ae Dil Hai Mushkil in London, where he had cut three cakes. His ex-girlfriend Katrina Kaif who was shooting for Baar Baar Dekho in Scotland flew down to London to make his day special. After reaching London, Katrina and Ranbir spent the birthday weekend at her London home, after which the actress took him for shopping. She had even surprised him on his movie’s sets by getting a cake for him. This year, she isn’t invited.
