American novelist and short story writer Veronica Roth became a household name when her book Divergent became a New York Times bestseller in April 2011.

At 26, Roth is now worth $20 million thanks to her success with Divergent and its sequels - Insurgent and Allegiant.

It all started when Roth wrote Divergent while studying at Northwestern University and gained expeditious success with it. She sold the publishing rights before graduating college in 2010, as well as the movie rights in March 2011, all before it was even published. The sci-fi action film was released in March 2014, and grossed $250 million worldwide.

Roth's inspiration for Divergent came from her personnel struggle with anxiety which she has been battling from a very young age.

In an interview with People Magazine, Roth said she found it therapeutic to deal with her anxiety by creating the heroine Beatrice who is strong enough to face her fears."She's someone I admire in certain ways because of her willingness to take bold action when it feels like the right decision," Roth told People. Adding her battles with anxiety come from putting pressure on her self and need to be a perfectionist.

In the second film, Insurgent, Tris Prior (Beatrice) is trying to confront her inner demons and fight against a powerful alliance which threatens to tear her society apart, with the help from others on her side.

In a press release, Director Robert Schwentke said, “The third book in the Divergent series, Allegiant is already conformed to hit the big screen-in fact, it’ll be cut up into two movies, with one premiering on March 6, 2016 & other on March 24, 2017.”

It seems there is no stopping this talented force who is reportedly working on two more books. While the announcement was made on Roth's own Twitter page, the details about the highly anticipated book have not yet been disclosed.
