B-Town came together to condemn the actions of singer Papon, who was caught on camera forcibly kissing a 11-year-old participant of a reality show.
The video causes quite a stir on Friday and the singer received a lot of backlash for his actions, which was nothing short of molesting a minor.
On Friday, a Supreme Court lawyer had filed a complaint with the National Commission for Protection of Child Right after Papon uploaded a video on his Facebook page, where he is seen kissing the minor contestant of the show.
In the video, which has since gone viral, Papon is seen celebrating Holi with the contestants of the show and planting a kiss on the girl's face.
Here’s how B-Town reacted
Disgusting! Shameful!Perverse! This man Papon should be arrested ! The girls parents succumbing to pressure ! The explanations given are ridiculous! Haven’t felt such anger and shame to see this happen and some on tv debates actually defending the act !

Wasn't smothering a child's face with your palm rubbing color all over it for 4 secs enough as fatherly love, that u had to pull the child's face then to strategically peck her on the lip??? There was no wrong camera angle or the child moving her face mistakenly BTW #papon

As a little girl, i had always hated Holi and it was entirely because of the old uncles chance maroing. Can completely relate to the girl’s violated expression. #Papon

#Bollywood is an industry & not #KhapPanchayat where all the denizens get together to admonish the wrong. Its silence shud not be misconstrued as accomplice to #Papon. When a #Mallaya or #NiravModi is tried, no one asks the jewellery/alcohol/airlines industry people to speak up.

I know #Papon he is good guy. But there is no doubt that when I saw the video it made me feel uncomfortable. I think he didn't mean to do it but if it was my daughter I would not like it. I think people should not touch other people's children, just to show affection: Farah Khan pic.twitter.com/dKGzPWRrpC

Meanwhile, the Assam police have registered an FIR against singer Papon for kissing a minor contestant of a reality TV show during a Facebook live session. The Assam State Commission for Protection of Child Rights (ASCPCR) filed a complaint against Papon with the Guwahati police commissioner.
"We have registered an FIR based on the complaint. Charges have been framed under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act," Assistant Commissioner of Police (Dispur) Sujit Saikia told PTI
Asked if the singer will be summoned, Saikia said the police would investigate the matter according to the procedure.
Earlier, ASCPCR chairperson Sunita Changkakati said it urged the police commissioner to consider Papon's act under the POCSO Act and take action.
The ASCPCR also sought action against other crew members like camera persons, who were present during shooting of the show, Changkakati added.
