Director Zack Snyder reveals first picture of Jason Momoa as Aquaman

The first picture of Aquaman (King of Atlantis) played by Game of Thrones star Jason Momoa has been revealed by director Zack Snyder on Twitter.

According to the comics, Aquaman was Justice League founding member. The king of Atlantis, is the ruler of all Earth's ocean and is able to communicate with sea life.

Momoa will first been seen as  Aquaman in Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, which is also directed by Snyder and will be released on March 26, 2016. Starring in the film, will be Henry Cavill (Superman), Ben Affleck (Batman) and Gal Gadot (Wonder Woman). Man of Steel stars Amy Adams, Laurence Fishburne and Diane Lane are reprising their roles. Jesse Eisenberg and Jeremy Irons will also be featured in the film.

After his 2016 debut, Aquaman will be seen in Snyder's Justice League Part One, which is set to be released in November 17, 2017.

On July 27, 2018,  Aquaman's own film will reportedly be released. He will join once again join his superhero friends in Justice League Part Two on June 14th, 2019.

Writers Will Beall (Gangster Squad) and Kurt Johnstad (300: Rise of an Empire) are said to be working on the script for Aquaman.
