Priyanka looks out for family first. It’s another story that her sister turned down the offer due to prior commitments
Priyanka Chopra is an inspiration to all her cousins and follows up on their careers, making sure that they don’t hit a roadblock in their journey. Recently, she went out of her way to help her cousin Meera Chopra, bag a prime part in a Canadian fantasy drama series. The Quantico actress was also in talks with Meera for a south collaboration under her banner. It now comes to light that she offered her Punjabi film to her cousin, Mannara Chopra.

Priyanka offered her the lead role in her Punjabi film, Sarvann. Recalls Mannara, “My aunt Madhu Chopra was there in Hyderabad for the screening of my South film, which was to release the following day. She told me how she and Priyanka were happy with the way my career was shaping up and discussed Sarvann with me. It was being made on a grand scale and the role was brilliant, but I could not do it because of my commitments for my next South film.”
‘PC aware of my career’
According to Mannara, Priyanka is aware of every project she takes up, “Every time I meet her, the first thing I have to spell out is what is happening next in my career. She understands me well. I have never felt the need to reach out to her, but if I do get stuck somewhere, she will be the first person I would call.” She adds that Priyanka is an inspiration, “She has done our family proud by achieving so much.”
The actress, who is looking forward to the March release of her next south film, Rogue, directed by Puri Jagannadh, has planned a special screening for the entire Chopra family next month, “It has always been family first for all of us. When my last film was released in the South, her whole family including her mother, was there. Now before my upcoming release, my aunt and everyone from the family, would like to see it before its official release,” she concludes.
