People believe what they get to see and what they read. But there's a lot undercover which isn't out in the public domain. One such truth is that although people feel that Tabu has replaced Rekha in Abhishek Kapoor's Fitoor, it's actually the reverse!

Don't believe us? So here's the full story. Gattu, as Abhishek is famously known, is a very dear friend of Tabu. He wanted to adapt Charles Dickens' The Great Expectations into a Bollywood film years back. The basic idea was there with him even before he actually made Rock On, his first film.

Gattu had then approached Tabu to play Miss Havisham in his film. Eventually, although Tabu loved the character, things didn't fall into place and Gattu moved ahead with another film. Years later, when he finally got the opportunity to live his dream and make Fitoor, he turned towards Rekha who instantly agreed to be a part of the project. She even shot for almost the entire schedule before she decided to unceremoniously walk out of the project.

Rekha's exit meant Fitoor was in troubled waters as an entire re-shoot had to be in place. Gattu was living a nightmare for the next two days until Tabu finally came on board and saved his film. Tabu immediately agreed to come aboard and the film was back on track in a span of two days.

With not much to lose, the reshoots began, this time with Tabu as Begum and there was no looking back. Now that the film is hitting screens next week, we thought people should at least know the real truth. After all, next time when we talk about Begum, we will at least know who replaced who in the film!
