Sidharth Malhotra and Sonakshi Sinha are currently shooting for Abhay Chopra’s Ittefaq, a remake of the BR Chopra movie (1969) produced by Yash Chopra. Few know that Sonakshi’s father, Shatrughan Sinha, had been offered the film first over Rajesh Khanna but Shatru could not do the film as the dates conflicted with his other films.

Interestingly, Sonakshi’s mother, Poonam did Aadmi Aur Insaan (1969), under the same banner under the screen name Komal. It was her second film after the Jeetendra and Mumtaz-starrer Jigri Dost (1969). She did a few films after that and then got married to Shatrughan in 1980.
