Salman Khan has walked out of Shhudhhi and it is Varun Dhawan who has replaced the actor in the Karan Johar film. We hear the it was Salman who recommended Dhawan Junior for the film where Alia Bhatt will be playing his leading lady.

Salman has been embroiled in a lot of legal controversies off late. As a result, the actor who has two films lined up in 2015- Kabir Khan's Bajrangi Bhaijaan and Sooraj Barjatya's Prem Ratan Dhan Payo - is not planning any other film yet. The actor is awaiting the result on his hit and run case and has put all his projects on hold, except for Shhudhhi

Salman had to walk out of Shhudhhi, because he did not want to delay the shooting process anymore and has cordially asked Karan to replace him with Varun. "Shhuddhi was already delayed when Salman joined the team. Hrithik and Kareena walked out. so when Salman could not allot dates, he decided to ask Karan to cast someone else. He only recommended Varun's name as he thinks Varun will be able to pull off the role nicely," sources told us.

Salman tweeted and wished Varun for the same and soon after, Johar took to Twitter to announce the film with Varun and Alia in the lead.
