Did Govinda discover Sonali Bendre? Not really!

On the Marathi comedy show Chala Hawa Yeu Dya, Govinda said that he had spotted Sonali Bendre first. He said he was  on his way somewhere when he saw Sonali getting off a rickshaw.

She went up to him and said, “Namaskar Govinda, main Sonali Bendre. He told her, ‘Aap bahut khoobsurat hai, aap heroine banana chahti hai? Aajaiye set par, aaj aap kaam karengi mere saath.’

However, a source close to Sonali denies it.

“Sonali started out as a model before being selected for the Star Dust Talent Search. She was to be launched in a film called Ram to be produced by Sohail Khan, but she made her debut with his brother-in-law Atul Agnihotri in Naraaz.”
