Did 'Dil Dhadakne Do' trailer fall below expectations?

Ever since Dil Dhadakne Do was announced with the stupendous ensemble cast, our expectations were piqued. What further happened was that the promo posters that were launched and unveiled in quick succession over the last couple of weeks had us waiting for the trailer which hit the digital platforms on Wednesday. 

The trailer of the film, which is nothing short of a grand Bollywood entertainer has received mixed reactions from the audiences. Picturesque locales, glamorous costumes and the star dazzle- the Dil Dhadakne Do trailer is larger than life as well. But with the trailer receiving mixed reactions, there's one big question raised- Did we expect too much from the film?

The posters had definitely upped our anticipation and expectation and the trailer, although is well made, does fall short. At one hand, the fans have gone beserk and have been lauding the trailer that has everyone intrigued. From Ranveer Singh's flamboyance to Anil Kapoor's charisma, Priyanka Chopra's GQ to Anushka Sharma's effervescence - the trailer had every reason to click with the audience. It did, but only with a particular section of the audience while the other section gave it a thumbs down.

It would not be wrong to say that the expectations piqued after the first look posters has definitely withered away a bit. Will that effect the film's performance at the box office? Will the film have more to offer than what is in the trailer? Only time will tell!

A story about a dysfunctional family of the Mehras, Dil Dhadakne Do is set to release on June 5 this year.
