'Devon Ke Dev Mahadev' fame Sonarika Bhadoria opens up on being slut-shamed for her bikini pictures

Sonarika Bhadoria, who shot to fame after playing the character of Parvati in the popular mythological TV show Devon Ke Dev Mahadev, has finally opened up on being slut-shamed for posting her bikini pictures on social media.

The actress was on a vacation to Mauritius and posted some of her pictures in beachwear, on her Instagram account, which didn't go down well with haters. They refused to accept her identity as an individual who exists beyond the show and started posting nasty comments on her pictures.

The Television actress is all set to make her Bollywood debut in the upcoming movie called Saansein. The actress spoke to Pinkvilla on the entire fiasco that ensued after she uploaded her vacation pictures. 

Here's what Sonarika had to say, "When an actor stands up for themselves, people think it's a promotional activity and publicity. I want to put it out loud and clear that I wasn't looking out for any kind of publicity for myself... At that time, I was in Mauritius, happily vacationing with my brother. If I am going to a beach, I will wear a  bikini. I liked the pictures and hence posted them on my social account. Little did I know that people still live in that era where a girl is not allowed to skin show and if she does, then she is slut-shammed!  It was fine to a point until people dragged my family into the matter and used derogatory words for them. I couldn't bear it and hence decided to give it back to the haters. Unfortunately, in today's world, everything just goes viral in no time.The entire thing was just blown out of proportion."
