Tonight will be a night of food, style and celebrations! F Lounge.Diner.Bar will host its second edition of F In Focus, that salutes talents in the field of fashion, in honour of couturier and stylist Manish Malhotra. The designer, who has completed more than 23 years in the industry, will have a special celebrity wall tracing his past work and accomplishments, and will also co-create a dish and a drink with the in-house chefs.
“The event is all about fashion and style and it feels great to be a part of this celebration. It’s been 23 years now, being a part of styling and films, and then eight years of being in the industry... dressing up stars such as the late Michael Jackson, Naomi Campbell, Demi Moore and Kate Moss. It has all been such a pleasure and a remarkable memory. After 1,000 films and 38 awards, I am proud to bring everyone a glimpse of my journey through the wall,” says Manish, who’s the second designer after Narendra Kumar to be felicitated this way.
Talking about the next 10 years, he says, “I hope to establish the brand globally. I want to ensure that I’m able to take to the world the beautiful intricate Indian craft which is so exclusive and slowly being appreciated a lot more. In the past five years, there’s been a phenomenal change in the fashion industry. I feel delighted to know that the modern young consumer today rejoices in wearing Indian designs.”
Manish has created Chicken Kathi Rolls (without onions) and an Apple Lychee Martini that will be on the menu till Saturday. “I absolutely love Martinis as they remind me of my favourite city in the world — New York. I’m a total foodie, a typical Punjabi and that’s the reason I love Kathi Rolls — they taste great and are fulfilling,” he explains.
Adds Rajan Madhu, director, F Lounge.Diner.Bar, “Since it’s the beginning of the year and Manish is one of the pioneers of the Indian fashion industry, we thought it would be appropriate to start 2013 with someone who has contributed so much to the fraternity as well as Bollywood.”
