Sanjay Leela Bhansali's Padmavati has been mired into troubles ever since the announcement of the project. Most recently, the sets of the film in Kolhapur were bombed and put to fire, which resulted into a lot of loss of costumes of the film.

While, everyone expected the lead actors Shahid Kapoor, Deepika Padukone and Ranveer Singh to speak up on the matter, apparently none of them have reacted to it. Most recently, when Deepika was asked about the drastic turn of events, the actress refused to comment on the issue. She instead chose to speak about how she feels on her third collaboration with SLB post Ram Leela and Bajirao Mastani. Deepika was speaking in Bangalore where she is spending time with her family.

The actress said, "Sanjay Leela Bhansali brings out the best in me as an actor. Working on ‘Padmavati’ with him brings out a creatively enriching feeling in me… The way he pushes you, challenges you… That’s what drives me to do his films,” adding that "“It is difficult as an actor to work with someone you have worked for so long. It’s challenging for both the director and actor to bring something new to the table every time they come together. Even when he worked with Ranveer (Singh) in ‘Ram Leela’ and ‘Bajirao Mastani’, it was a similar feeling and these films are classic examples. We hope we are able to deliver something different for the audience this time again with ‘Padmavati’."
