Deepika Padukone has been featured on the cover page of the French magazine Indes. The actres will be representing Indian cinema at the 70th annual Cannes Film Festival to be held this year.

The prestigious festival will take place from May 17 to May 28 and Bollywood stars Sonam Kapoor and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan will be accompanying her as well. Furthermore, internationally-acclaimed composer A.R Rahman too will be seen at the venue.

The three actresses will be promoting an international cosmetics brand while Aishwarya Rai will also screen Devdas, her 2002 hit. AR Rahman, on the other hand, will join his team to celebrate Sangamithra, a highly-anticipated, trilingual film. 

A Pinkvilla report quoted AR Rahman as saying,"I'm very excited working on this ambitious project Sangamithra. I am looking forward to joining the team at Cannes." Deepika Padukone is scheduled to walk the red carpet on May 17-18 and when asked about the festival, she said, "I  am very very excited. I am looking forward to the entire experience of being there and taking it all in."

According to reports, the actress was spotted leaving the country for the festival earlier today.  As per tradition, the event will be held at the Palais des Festivals et des Congres in the city of Cannes. The opening film will be Arnaud Desplechin's French film Ismaels's Ghosts.
