Debina Bonnerjee hits out at Kavita Kaushik for leaving 'Dr Bhanumati On Duty'

Kavita Kaushik gained immense recognition post her brilliant portrayal of a tough cop Chandramukhi Chautala in the comedy series FIR. Last month, a new show with her began airing. Dr Bhanumati On Duty. And even before the film could complete a month, the actress decided to quit the show and Debina Bonnerjee was brought in to replace her on the show. 

Talking to Spotboye.com, Debina claimed that she had not watched any episode of the show and she 'didn't feel the need to' speak to Kavita before signing the show. Why? She reasons, "My character is different, the show is different from what it was. It even has a new name. I would have spoken to Kavita if I was stepping into her shoes per se," she told the portal. 

When asked about the comparisons that are bound to happen between Kavita and her, she immediately took offence. "Kyun? I am not doing Kavita’s part. Someone (read Kavita) was playing (a character from) FIR, I on the other hand will be playing a bubbly girl," she chose to be rather snarky about Kavita. 

Guess it's another curious tale of cat-fights on the small screen!
