Daniel Radcliffe is reportedly in talks to play Grand Theft Auto developer in a new 90-minute BBC drama.

The project about the creation of seminal video game franchise, would see the 25-year-old Harry Potter star in the role of Sam Houser, the co-founder of Rockstar Games, and show the dramatised version of his clashes with anti-gaming activist and now-disbarred attorney Jack Thompson, the Verge reported.

Currently named Grand Theft Auto, the film is based on a book by David Kushner Jacked: The Outlaw Story of Grand Theft Auto, and will be helmed by Owen Harris. Though the first Grand Theft Auto was released in 1997, it was when the first 3D game in the series, Grand Theft Auto III, was launched, the games gained global attention.
