The recently released trailer of Ae Dil Hai Mushkil is creating a buzz for several reasons, one of them being the sizzling chemistry between Ranbir Kapoor and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan. The actress is older to Kapoor by five years, but that doesn’t stop the two from rocking the screen. Conventionally, Bollywood heroes have been romancing girls half their age, but this year we have several heroines paired with actors, who are younger to them by a couple of years or more. Here’s a low down.
Katrina and Sidharth share a crackling chemistry, at least, in the trailer and songs of Baar Baar Dekho released so far. They recently went on the Dream Tour together, and share a great comfort level. This is evident at the promotions of their film, where they are playing the lovey-dovey couple to the hilt. This is one hot pair everyone’s looking forward to.
This film turned all the traditional concepts on his head. Not only was the heroine older to the hero, it had Arjun playing a house-husband and Kareena essaying an independent, working woman. The diva and the rugged hero shared several liplocks and steamy scenes to bring out the chemistry of a married couple, but it left people wanting.
She played Estella to Aditya’s Pip in Fitoor, the adaptation of Charles Dickens’ novel Great Expectations. This tale of love and obsession, however, lacked passion and Kat-Aditya’s pairing didn’t work. The two did try to bring their chemistry alive during the promotions, but clearly it didn’t help.
For this coming-of-age film, Wake Up Sid, director Ayan Mukerji went for an unusual casting and it worked big time. Ranbir and Konkona made for a charming couple and shared a cute chemistry.
Bipasha pairing up with the then newbie Ranbir for Bachna Ae Haseeno and sharing a smooch created a sensation.
They first came together in Gunday as a romantic pair, but it was in Bajirao Mastani that they scorched the screen with their equation. Interestingly, they also played siblings in Dil Dhadakne Do.
Though they played a romantic couple in Dil Bole Hadippa, Rani was in disguise as a Sardar for half the film, and there was hardly any chemistry between the two.
The two teamed up for Bobby Jasoos and though the film didn’t focus on their romance, they made for a sweet couple. The detective drama, however, failed to score at the box office.
