Sultan director Ali Abbas Zafar won't be watching the film on July 6 with his cast and crew first. He will head to Dehradun instead to catch the film with his parents, who live there. His father is a retired ONGC officer and mother is a teacher.

"My family has no connection with the film industry. My parents won't come to Mumbai even for something as important as Sultan. They told me, 'You come to Dehradun to watch it with us'. So I am off to be home with my parents the day after Sultan releases."

Ali, who is putting finishing touches to the product, warns fans that Sultan is not the "typical Salman Khan Eid presentation." He adds, "It is in a far more real space. I think audiences are far more prepared now for a more realistic commercial cinema. Even Salman's fans now want him to do something different. The success of Bajrangi Bhaijaan proved it."
