Starting Friday evening, the weekend starts. And if you have been smart enough to lock down the strategically placed leaves on August 16 and 19, you have got an entire week at your disposal.

There are travellers, explorers, Pokemon Go players, and unannounced visitors in the world looking to make most of the holidays. Then there is a clan of binge-watchers and proud couch potatoes looking to devour the programming on there 'To-Watch' list. For the latter kind, here's a handy guide for what's on the telly.

Netflix - Movies and television

India is gearing up to celebrate its 70th Independence Day on August 15 and in the spirit of this national holiday, we bring you some Netflix offerings from the home of the brave. Narcos

The true story of Colombia’s infamously violent and powerful drug cartels fuels this gritty new gangster drama series. Narcos revolves around the rise and fall of Colombian kingpin Pablo Escobar and the Drug Enforcement Agency agents hunting him.

Orange is the New Black

Orange Is the New Black is an American comedy-drama web television series created by Jenji Kohan. It is the story of Piper Chapman, who is sent to prison for a 15-month stint after being charged with transporting drugs. In prison, Piper is reunited with her ex-lover Alex who had named Piper in her trial, resulting in Piper's arrest and they re-examine their relationship and deal with their fellow prisoners.

Master of None

Master of None is the story of Dev ,who is an Indian living in New York, and his take on such pillars of maturity as the first big job, a serious relationship and busting sex offenders on the subway.

Stranger Things

This thrilling Netflix-original drama stars award-winning actress Winona Ryder as Joyce Byers, who lives in a small Indiana town in 1983 -- inspired by a time when tales of science fiction captivated audiences. When Joyce's 12-year-old son, Will, goes missing, she launches a terrifying investigation into his disappearance with local authorities. For all those star trek lovers, the long weekend can be a perfect time to binge on your favourite series. Star Trek is an American science fiction entertainment franchise created by Gene Roddenberry.
