After his surprise gig at Hauz Khas on Wenesday night, Chris Martin of Coldplay met Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday.

Representatives of The Global Poverty Project, Martin and actress Freida Pinto met Modi as a follow-up to last year's Global Citizen Festival in New York City, where the Prime Minister had called for a global movement to end poverty and provide universal sanitation.

The group also discussed support for the Modi's flagship programme Swachh Bharat Abhiyaan. They discussed how they can support Modi's campaign and his initiative to provide universal sanitation throughout India by 2019. They reportedly also thanked the Prime Minister for his international leadership in elevating the cause of sanitation, with a focus on girls and women, on the global agenda.

Martin and Freida Pinto are traveling in India with The Global Poverty Project, a global nonprofit organization dedicated to ending extreme poverty by 2030. During the trip, the delegation will be meeting with key government leaders, nonprofit partners in the water, sanitation and hygiene (WASH) space, and participating in field visits to see innovative projects addressing sanitation in local communities throughout India.

However, Martin made news and was trending in India for impromptu performance at Summer House Cafe in Delhi's Hauz Khas Village, where he played for and unsuspecting crowd with Vishal Dadlani and Raghu Dixit. Actress Frieda Pinto and cast members of comedy collective AIB were also part of the audience.
