As per the first look poster of Sanjay Dutt's comeback film Bhoomi, which was unveiled last year in December, the film was slated to be released on August 4, 2017. However, sometime later in the same month last year, the teaser of Aamir Khan's next film Secret Superstar was released and that too mentioned the release date as August 4, 2017.

As usual, it once again started the entire debate of Dutt vs Khan and the their respective two films locking horns at the box office. But looks like Dutt took a lesson from one of the biggest box office clash of this year, between Shah Rukh Khan's Raees and Hrithik Roshan's Kaabil and decided to postpone his film so that the evident clash with his good friend Aamir's film may be avoided.

As per a report on MidDay, a source informs,"Dutt doesn’t want to clash with Aamir since they both go a long way. We have seen no matter how professional people act, box office contests eventually gets dirty, even between close friends (hinting at the ping-pong comments between Hrithik-Rakesh Roshan and SRK-Ritesh Sidhwani). Moreover, Aamir’s is a small budget film, riding solely on content. A star clash could affect it.” The report further quotes Dutt as saying, "I know the kind of hard work and effort that goes into making a film. I believe, after all the work being put in, it can’t be reduced to a clash at the box office. Aamir is a dear friend and I wouldn’t want my comeback film to be pitted against his. In this industry we should all make an effort to help each other.”
