Chinese song Chick Chick may sound like gibberish but it works, here are some others

Eight million views and counting, the music video for Chinese song Chick Chick may sound like gibberish with farm sounds thrown in for good measure, but Rong 'Rollin' Wang's monster hit is slowly but surely clucking its way to becoming this year's Gangnam Style, in terms of plain absurdity and animal presence in the song. Total number of views, though? That will have to wait.

The video has the ladies wearing birdy bodices, animated barn beasts, men with animal masks on wearing tiny white shorts. Oh, did we mention the clucking and other assorted animal sounds?

Norwegian comedy duo Ylvis created the biggest viral internet hit since Gangnam Style. The song features brothers Vegard and Bård Ylvisåker, collectively known as Ylvis, dancing around a forest in fox suits as they attempt to contemplate what exactly it is that a fox says. People interested in finding out? Over 460 million, at last count on YouTube. It peaked at number 6 for three consecutive weeks on the Billboard Hot 100. 215 million! It was also the top trending video of 2013 on YouTube.

Katy Perry's Roar (2013)
In a video inspired by comic book character Sheena Queen Of The Jungle, Katy clicks selfies with a monkey, rides an elephant, hangs with tropical parrots, roars-off with a tiger among other things. She made big noise. 556.7 million views sounds like a pretty impressive number.

We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together - Taylor Swift (2012)
The video for We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together is a quirky celebration that sees Swift singing and dancing with band members in animal costumes in between relationship flashbacks. The track, made a serious splash, selling 623,000 downloads in its first week and setting the digital record for a female artist. It moved another 307,000 units in its second week and has spent two weeks as Billboard Hot 100's No 1.

Gangnam Style - PSY (2012)
Undisputed champion at 2.1 billion views and counting. Scenes were shot in a stable. PSY does horse-y moves, which went viral on the dance floor.

White Knuckles - OK Go (2010)
White Knuckles features the band assisting a talented team of dogs as they engage in some furniture-aided choreography.

Where's Your Head At? - Basement Jaxx (2001)
Basement Jaxx puts their faces on the bodies of monkeys and play some serious pranks on an unsuspecting man.

Island In The Sun - Weezer (2001)
Rivers Cuomo, playing with lions, panthers and baby bears. Doesn't get cuter than this.

Feel - Robbie Williams (2002)
Reached the top of the charts in Austria, Germany, Hungary, Italy, the Netherlands, and top five positions in countries such as Denmark, Ireland and the United Kingdom. It got the singer to ride a horse, something he had never done before.

Butterfly - Mariah Carey (1997)
The video clip features a lot of horses. And you also see one in the promo, with Mariah. Once free, Mariah rides a horse to what we can only presume is a happier life for her character.
