Malayalam actress Parvathy who recently debuted in Bollywood film Qarib Qarib Single made a bold statement about misogyny in films.

The actress was one of the panellist of 'Women in Cinema Collective' session at the International Film Festival Of Kerala  2017. Hinting at Mammootty's film Kasaba, Parvathy said, ""I had watched a film recently, to my bad luck. With all respect to the makers, the film disappointed me, as it featured a great actor spitting totally misogynistic dialogues. A lot of people feel cinema reflects life and society, so when a superstar mouths such a dialogue, people might think its sexy and cool."

As soon as the news spread that Parvathy had spoken against the superstar,  Mammootty fans started trolling her online. From being called a 'cheap feminist' to 'Who are you to talk about Mammootty?' actor's fans lashed out at Parvathy.

The actress also took to Twitter to express her opinion on the matter, she wrote, " Cinema can reflect all aspects of the society and all kinds of people. The good, the bad and the ugly. But no! It cannot glorify injustice and violence as 'cool' and 'mass' entertainment. I rest my case."

The forum also discussed abduction and assault case of Malayalam actress in which actor Dileep is allegedly involved.
