A Visual Treat: More than 200 Indian and foreign-language films were screened during the two-days
More than 200 Indian and foreign-language films were screened during the two-day Chambal International Film Festival (CIFF), which concluded on Sunday.
Awards in 45 categories including Best Film, Best Director, Best Actor, Best Actress and several others were also given away on the occasion. At least 75 film makers, directors and drama artists, including seven to eight from aboard, who were in Kota for the festival, that the CIFF is a grand platform for nourishing and shaping the new talent and offering them platform.
Festival director Dr Kapil Siddharth said films from 35 countries including the US, the UK, Canada, Switzerland, Greece, Germany, France, Japan, China, Belgium, Denmark, Russia, Australia, Austria, Korea, and Croatia among others were received for the festival, said
The audience in Kota got a chance to watch some wonderful feature films, short films, documentary films, animation films and music videos of various international film makers, Siddharth added. The festival, organised by Anugoonj Media Pvt Ltd, also screened ‘Court’, which was selected as India’s official entry to Academy Award in the Best Foreign Language Film category.
Among 75 filmmakers, which included Uwe Schwarzwalder (Switzerland), Mercia Thompson (Australia), Brendan McKiny (Canada), Anwar Hussain Pinto (Bangladesh) and Joy Mastino (Croatia) graced the function with their presence. The festival screened films in different languages such as Hindi, English, Marathi, Kannada, Bengali, Malyalam, Telugu, Assamese, Tamil, Russian, French, Mandarin, Japanese, Swedish, Polish, Arabic, German, Portuguese, Persian, Haiti etc. Bollywood singer and composer Kshitij Tarey who was also the special guest gave a mesmerizing musical performance which included hit songs.
