Celebs pay tribute to Bob Hoskins who died of pneumonia

London: Celebs paid tribute to the 'Who Framed Roger Rabbit' actor Bob Hoskins who passed away in hospital on Tuesday night, following a bout of pneumonia. He was 71.

Hoskins who acted in more than 80 films died peacefully at hospital surrounded by his family, his wife Linda and children Alex, Sarah, Rosa and Jack said in a short statement.

Hoskins quit acting in 2012 after he was diagnosed with Parkinson's disease.

Dame Helen Mirren, who acted alongside the Oscar-nominated actor in 'The Long Good Friday' and 'Last Orders' paid tribute to him by saying that he was a great actor and an even greater man.

Mirren said that Hoskins was never sexist, when many around at that time were and that she personally will miss him very much.

Other tributes from celebrities have poured in on Twitter, with the likes of Samuel L. Jackson and James Woods paying their respects.
