The most annoying question which a journo could pose to a socialite would be – 'What are your favourite brands?' The most cliched replies will be - 'I'm not into brands, I do my own thing' or 'I mix designer labels with High Street' or 'I never wear a designer look from head to toe '. They may appear most reluctant to spell out their fave label but given the spate of their social appearances, one can easily interpret which designer labels they swear by. All you need to do is to go through the archive of their social appearances and you'll know which heart beats for which designer. Read on...

Parmeshwar Godrej: The Herve Leger Pioneer
She started the school of bandage dress style in India which is still up and running! You can't picture her without her chic beret and bandage dress. Over the years, she's made that her signature look which was aped by others though with little success. Her personal style can be roughly juxtaposed into the following: off-shoulder body-con dresses, sweetheart necklines, sheer fabric and a pair of high heels.

Gauri Khan hearts Lanvin and Pucci
Recently at the opening of Bandra 190, Gauri chose a burnt orange draped Lanvin dress and completed her look with a black clutch and Louboutin slingbacks.
In the ads of the furniture brand she endorses with hubby Shah Rukh, she wears an Emilio Pucci number. One look at her envy-inducing closet and you'd know that she adores Emilio Pucci's va va voom aesthetic, Dolce & Gabbana and lots of blazers. She's partial to Roland Mouret, drop-waist printed dresses, Tarun Tahiliani sari gowns and Michael Kors for the décor diva. However, of late, she's mostly seen in demure Monisha Jaising kurtis. Her airport look is fuss-free: a blazer or vest, a pair of denims and a pair of boots.

Queenie Singh: Always bandaged in Herve Leger
Ruched, ruffled, frills, tiered, one-shouldered, off-shouldered, body-con - these phrases can aptly sum up Queenie's sartorial code. Sheath dresses which flatter her yoga-toned body have emerged to be her signature look over the years.

Sheetal Mafatlal: Sheathed in Versace
When she was 16 she would go to Milan to buy Versace. When she got married Donatella designed her wedding lehenga. According to rumours, the couture junkie went into mourning when Gianni Versace died. Even though she brought Valentino to India and she enjoyed wearing the brand, her love and loyalty to Versace remains unparalleled.

Ramona Narang: Another Emilio Pucci addict
She loves her Puccis and has been spotted in printed gowns from the brand. Never an understated dresser, Ramona always likes to stand out on the red carpet and opts for bold prints or striking colours. Besides Pucci, she too has a penchant for body con dressing – think shimmery Herve Leger, Dolce & Gabbana floral-print sheath dresses, Missoni maxi dresses. Of course, her blonde mane and smokey eyes take the glam quotient several notches up.

Avanti Birla loves Giuseppe Zanotti heels
Like her friend Queenie, Avanti too has a penchant for Herve Leger bandage body con dresses. A few years ago, she caused a style hurricane of sorts at couture week by wearing a black Ashish dress which had exaggerated spikes on the shoulders. She clearly loves studs and spikes – whether they are on her shoes or shoulders. However, one leitmotif which has been a constant in all her social appearances is her choice of footwear – Giuseppe Zanotti heels whether they are in the form of cutout platforms or spikey. At Queenie's store launch in Bandra last year she wore a sexy pair studded with metallic spikes.

Tanisha Mohan: The Birkin babe
The Delhi based socialista married to businessman Robbie Mohan is well known for her love for Hermes merchandise. Whether she's wearing a pink DvF number or a Pria Kataaria printed kaftan, you can't miss the Birkin on her arm. She's got one in every possible size, colour and texture.

Anu Dewan in DvF
Businessman Sunny Dewan's wife has worn DvF way too many times – she wore an animal printed piece from the brand at Le Mill's FarFetch 2013 SUPERSTORE award. At another occasion when she wore a printed DvF dress, she completed the look with a pair of metallic peep-toe pumps, black clutch and pink lips. Another look from the same brand was an animal printed kaftan at Chunky Pandey's bday bash and also at India bridal week. However, her choice for Indian festivities like Diwali or Karwa Chauth has always been Abu Sandeep salwar kameezes.

Roohi's penchant for Gucci
Roohi Jaikishan wore a brown ruffled Gucci gown from the brand's fall line for a magazine award show. At the Gucci Award for Women In Cinema in Venice, she wore one shouldered Gucci. Even at the Canali bash, her go-to evening pick was Gucci. Her other fave brands like Stella McCartney, Ferragamo and Issa.
