CBFC chief Pahlaj Nihalani has been in the news for numerous reasons since he took office. This time, the controversy around Spectre and 'Sanskaari Bond' brought back the spotlight on him. Twitterverse had a field day when news of the chopped kissing scenes from the movie surfaced.

However, looks like Nihalani is unfazed and instead has posed a question back at his critics.

Speaking to a tabloid, Nihalani said that steamy scenes were also cut from the previous Bond movie Skyfall, but people made no fuss about it. So why is it an issue if the Board cut down the duration of kissing scenes in Spectre by 20 seconds, he asks.

"Few thousand people on Twitter don't know what India is. India is a land where people put Gangajal on their face," he says in the interview. Talking about the duration of the kiss, he also goes on to add, "This means you want to do sex in your house with your door open. And show to people the way you are doing sex,".

He goes on say that if these movies are made available on digital platforms, he is confident that the government will introduce censorship there as well.

Replying to a question about double standards when it comes to censorship, Nihalani also said that there is no question of double standards as they had cleared movies like Masaan and Margarita with a Straw.
