'Captain America' sequel sets weekend box office record with $96.2m earnings

'Captain America: The Winter Soldier' has made record breaking earnings at the box office with 96.2 million dollars.

The movie, which is the sequel to Marvel's 2011 film, lead in 32 international markets and garnered 75.2 million dollars overseas, the Independent reported.

Russell Crowe starrer 'Noah' pipped to second position with 17 million dollars at the box office, followed by science-fiction thriller 'Divergent' with 13 million in its third week.
