Pop star Britney Spears has admitted she wants to duet with ex-boyfriend Justin Timberlake.

The 34-year-old singer has shocked fans by admitting she's keen to hit the studio and make music with her childhood sweetheart, 14 years after they split, reported Female First.

Asked who she'd love to duet with, the "Make Me" hitmaker said, "Aerosmith seems really good and bright. He's a genius I think. He's very rock n' roll. He sings from his soul. Gwen Stefani, I think she's great."

During a fan Q&A for Most Requested Live with Romeo, she then let slip, "Justin Timberlake is very good." Fans of the pair will be thrilled with the news that she wants to reunite with 35-year-old Timberlake after all these years.

They met when they starred together in Disney's Mickey Mouse Club and began dating aged 17 after they both became pop stars.

Three years later they broke hearts when they dramatically split and Timberlake penned the track "Cry Me A River" allegedly about Spears cheating on him.

He is now married to Jessica Biel and the couple have a one-year-old son named Silas, whilst Spears has 10-year-old son Sean and nine-year-old Jayden from her marriage to Kevin Federline.
