The first day collections of the film are out...
As a leading lady, Parineeti Chopra has arrived on the big screen two and a half years after Kill Dil. However, despite being the central protagonist in Meri Pyaari Bindu, she hasn't quite seen a good beginning for her film, what with only Rs 1.75 crore coming on Day One. These are in fact the lowest numbers ever for a film starring Parineeti Chopra in the lead, as her previous low was Daaawat-E-Ishq which had collected Rs 3.5 crore. That film also managed some sort of stability in days to come and eventually collected Rs 26 crore in its lifetime run. Now Meri Pyaari Bindu could well be happy if it eventually lands up in that space.
That looks tough though for the moment since the start is so low that it just doesn't allow a quick sprint past the Rs 20 crore mark. On the flipside, it now has everything to gain since any growth from this point on would help in adding on to the moolah and keeping the ship afloat.
However, it would still have been a possibility to some extent had the competition been only Sarkar 3. The Amitabh Bachchan starrer isn't doing great guns either despite releasing at double the screens. However, it is massive challenge from Baahubali 2 [Hindi] which is keeping anything and everything around it at bay.
The dubbed film is collecting more than double the sum of both Meri Pyaari Bindu and Sarkar 3 combined together and the ratio is going to become only bigger between today and tomorrow. Since the Akshay Roy directorial debut hasn't seen all around glowing feedback either, it makes it all the more challenging for Meri Pyaari Bindu to see a major turnaround in days to come.
All eyes are now on some kind of a miraculous push over the weekend because in absence of that it would become even tougher for the Ayushmann Khurranna and Parineeti Chopra starrer to stay afloat over the weekdays.
