Five days after the film Producer Boney Kapoor's Twitter account was hacked, Bollywood producer has filed a complaint at the cyber police station of Bandra-Kurla complex against an unknown person.

Boney’s account was inactive since September 20, 2015 when he last retweeted the picture of his wife and actress Sridevi.

Taking advantage, on March 3, an unidentified person had hacked into his twitter account was messaging people to transfer money into his Paytm e-wallet for a 'charity show' in Lucknow.





The hacker had also shared his mobile number which turned out to be from Gujarat.

Upon learning about the hack, Kapoor immediately changed the password, recovered his account and messaged his followers apologising for the inconvenience.

Deputy commissioner of police, cyber, Akhilesh Kumar Singh said that the accused tried to extort money from others as well. When Kapoor learnt about it, he immediately changed the password and managed to retrieve his twitter account.

The police are now investigating the case and have registered the case under relevant sections of Indian Penal Code and Information technology act.
