From the time Dilip Kumar cuddled Baby Farida in Ram Aur Shyam singing Ram Ki Leela Rang Layee to the torrent of tears created by adorable Harshaali Malhotra piggyback riding on Salman Khan’s sturdy shoulders all the way to her mother’s arms in Bajrangi Bhaijaan… kids have been shown to share a very tender and convincing bonding with superstars.

Here’s listing the best of the lot...

Shah Rukh Khan
with Sana Saeed, Sooraj Balajee and Armaan Verma
SRK had a rollicking time with Sana, who played his ‘kewl’ daughter in Kuch Kuch Hota Hai, had a strong screen companion in eight-year-old Sooraj in Asoka and a son who rediscovers his bonding with his father in Armaan Verma in RA.One.

Aamir Khan
with Adil Rizvi, Darsheel Safary and Ali Haji
Played the house-husband in his cousin Mansoon Ali Khan’s film Akele Hum Akele Tum. Superb bonding with his screen son in scenes showing the dad trying to do the mom’s chores. As Darsheel’s arts teacher Ram Shankar Nikumbh, he made us wish every under-confident student would find a teacher who really cared. As for Ali Haji who played Aamir’s illegitimate son in Fanaa, the boy stole every scene from his screen father.

Salman Khan
with Aditya Narayan and Harshaali Malhotra
In Jab Pyaar Kisi Se Hota Hai, Aditya plays Salman’s illegitimate child and shows up at his dad’s doorstep, bag and baggage. They bonded with a fair bit of conviction. Harshaali’s bonding with her Bajrangi Bhaijaan, can’t get any more tender and filial than this.

Hrithik Roshan
with Abhishek Sharma in Kaho Na…Pyar Hai
Abhishek played Duggu’s kid bro as though they were real siblings. Protective, possessive, doting and giving, there was as much chemistry between the two brothers as there was between Hrithik and Amisha Patel.

Akshay Kumar
with Aditya Kapadia in Jaanwar
Aditya Kapadia plays the abandoned child who reforms the criminal played by Akshay Kumar. Akki’s real–life father Hari Om Bhatia was ailing when he shot this film. He shed real tears for his screen son.
