While Hollywood has always been obsessed with Paris, Bollywood is just discovering the city. Preity Zinta was the one who started the trend after a long gap when she shot her last film Ishq in Paris. The Shammi Kapoor-Sharmila Tagore film An Evening in Paris was the first Hindi film to be filmed there. But in recent times Hindi film makers have been obsessed with filming in London, Africa, Australia and the US. The recent Kangana Ranaut-Rajkummar Rao film Queen was shot in Paris, and triggered off a Parisian passion in Bollywood.
A number of upcoming films will be shot there. The first one being Nikhil Advani's Hero. According to reliable members of the unit, a sudden decision has been taken to shoot a part of a song in Paris. Says the source, "A romantic number was filmed on Sooraj Pancholi and Aathiya Shetty in Mumbai. But a portion of the song was not shot. We were told it will be shot in Paris, although the city is no part of the script."
At least three more big-budgeted under-production films are planning to incorporate Paris into their plot. These include Kabir Khan's Phantom, Zoya Akhtar's Dil Dhadakne Do and Mohit Suri's Hamari Adhuri Kahani.
