Bollywood films set for titanic clashes at the box office in the coming weeks

The year 2013 has been a good year for Bollywood as Chennai Express broke all the records and films like Ship of Theseus and The LunchBox are said to be in contention for India's official entry to the Oscars.

In the past few years too, Bollywood clashes have happened with films like Son Of Sardar and Jab Tak Hai Jaan clashing, then there was Lagaan and Gadar, Ghayal and Dil, Welcome and Taare Zameen Par.

Grand Masti and John Day - Sepember 13

Grand Masti is an adult comedy film, directed by Indra Kumar and produced by Ashok Thakeria.

The film is a sequel to the 2004 hit, Masti, and will feature Vivek Oberoi, Aftab Shivdasani and Riteish Deshmukh along with Bruna Abdullah, Karishma Tanna, Sonalee Kulkarni,Kainaat Arora,Maryam Zakaria and Manjari Fadnis amongst others.

Recently Punjab and Haryana high court stayed the release of movie Grand Masti in the states of Punjab, Haryana and Chandigarh after are hearing a petition that says the movie has vulgar language and dialogues.

John Day is a thriller directed by Ahishor Solomon and produced by K Asif, Anjum Rizvi and Aatef A Khan and The film features Naseeruddin Shah, Randeep Hooda, Vipin Sharma, Shernaz Patel as main characters.


Phata Poster Nikhla Hero and The Lunchbox -
September 20

Phata Poster Nikhla Hero is an action-comedy film starring Shahid Kapoor and Ileana D'Cruz in lead roles.

The film will be produced by Ramesh Taurani and directed by Rajkumar Santoshi, who earlier directed films such as Ghayal, Andaz Apna Apna, Damini, Khakee and Ajab Prem Ki Ghazab Kahani.

The Lunchbox is set in Mumbai, revolves around a mistaken delivery in Dabbawala of Mumbai, which leads to a relationship between Irrfan and Nimrat Kaur the film also stars Nawazuddin Siddiqui. Directed by Ritesh Batra, and produced by Guneet Monga and Anurag Kashyap.

The Lunchbox is on the top of the list of critics' favourite film as India's Oscar Entry.

Gori Tere Pyaar Mein and Singh Saab The Great - November 22

Gori Tere Pyaar Mein is an Indian romantic comedy film written and directed by Punit Malhotra, who earlier directed I Hate Luv Storys.

Produced by Karan Johar, the film features Imran Khan, Kareena Kapoor Khan and Shraddha Kapoor in pivotal roles. The lead actors were seen together in Ek Main Aur Ek Tu.

Singh Sahab the Great is a drama directed by Anil Sharma. The film features Sunny Deol, Amrita Rao, Urvashi Rautela and Prakash Raj as main characters. Anil Sharma and Sunny had done Gaddar - Ek Prem Katha
 

 

Bullet Raja and Rambo Rajkumar - November 29

Bullett Raja is an gangster-thriller, written and directed by Tigmanshu Dhulia. The film will feature Saif Ali Khan and Sonakshi Sinha in leading roles with Vidyut
Jamwal. The film will be set against the backdrop of Uttar Pradesh-based mafia while dealing with the underworld.

Rambo Rajkumar is an action film directed by Prabhu Deva and written by Shiraz Ahmed. Shahid Kapoor and Sonakshi Sinha. Directed by Prabhu Deva.

Both Sonakshi Sinha's films will be released on the same day.

The latest news says that Rambo Rajkumar will be shifted to December 6, 2013. The news is yet to be confirmed though.


Kaanchi and Shaadi Ke Side Effects - December 6

Kaanchi... is been produced and directed by Subhash Ghai he is back to director after 5 years. The film starring Rishi Kapoor and Mithun Chakraborty.

The lead role will be played by newcomer Mishti. The film is officially slated for a release on December 6, 2013.

Shaadi Ke Side Effects is romantic comedy film directed by Saket Chaudhary and produced by Pritish Nandy and Rangita Pritish Nandy. Starring Vidya Balan and

Farhan Akhtar in leads. It is a sequel to Pyaar Ke Side Effects. Vidya has not just shed 12 kilos for this role but also her sari-clad traditional avatar.

In Shaadi Ke Side Effects, she plays a modern stylish woman who works in an ad agency and is married to Sid Roy, played by Farhan Akhtar.
