BIZARRE Valentines Day ritual: Students of a Delhi college to WORSHIP Disha Patani to help them lose their virginity!

While the world celebrates February 14 as Valentine's Day, students of a Delhi college celebrate the day in their own unique (and bizarre) manner. 

Some students of Hindu College in Delhi have a weird ritual for Valentines Day that they follow every year. So the single guys worship a Virgin Tree, which they call Damdami Mai every year on V-Day. They choose an actress and and then a puja is conducted at the tree within the campus. 

This bizarre ritual is followed so the the virgin boys lose their virginity as it's believed that the ones who are involved in the puja, find a suitable partner in the next 6 months and lose their virginity within a year from the day the puja is performed.

This year, the students have chosen Disha Patani as their deity goddess. A  second year student from the college, Vaibhav Singh told the Times of India, "The second and third-year hostellers have chosen her (Disha). We picked her after having a meeting. Along with Disha, one name that was also considered was of Nargis Fakhri, but since most of the guys liked Disha, we have chosen her as our Damdami Mai,” adding that "Damdami Mai is usually the actress who has been popular in that particular year, and who is also voted for by the most hostellers. Like always, we will have the puja on the morning of February 14. And a fresher will perform the puja as he will be the pandit for that day. As always, condoms will be used to decorate the Virgin Tree.”
