As the leggy lass Anushka Sharma is busy juggling the promotional activities of  Bombay Velvet and Dil Dhadakne Do and also cheering for her beau Virat Kohli's RCB in the IPL matches, she turns a year older today and she completes close to seven years in the industry. We trace down her 5 best roles which has left a strong impression on the audience.

NH10

Anushka made her debut as a producer this year and her character Meera was far from her bubbly and vivacious image. NH10 - an action packed revenge drama, portrayed Anushka in a never-seen-before avatar. Setting the bar much higher for herself and her contemporaries with her stellar act, Anushka has definitely delivered the best performance of the year so far.

Band Baaja Baaraat

This refreshing movie which gave the audience a chance to witness the life of wedding planner completely belonged to Anushka Sharma.  Anushka Sharma (Shruti) and Ranveer Singh (Bittoo) were a hit among the audience and her no nonsense attitude and spontaneity made her a treat to watch and showed that she had come a long way since her debut movie. Not to forget, the actress even received numerous accolades and Awards for her terrific performance.

PK

When you are in a Khan film, you know your character might just be reduced to that of a showpiece. But Anushka chose a different path as she made PK her own film. Despite having someone as heavyweight as Aamir Khan in the same frame, Anushka managed to steal the limelight away from Mr Perfectionist. Her portrayal of Jaggu, a news reporter who helps PK (Aamir Khan) in his mission to go back to his planet, got her rave reviews from critics and audiences alike. She not only gave a stellar performance but also, in many scenes, gave Aamir Khan a run for his money.

Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi

Debuting with a banner as huge as YRF, expectations and anticipations have to be sky-rocketing. But managing to hold on to her ground, despite being a newcomer, was something Anushka aced right in her first film. Anushka became an overnight star with Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi and the film gave her a girl-next door image. Soon then, offers followed and you had Anushka escalating towards stardom.

Jab Tak Hai Jaan

Yash Chopra's last directorial movie brought the trio of Shahrukh Khan, Katrina Kaif and Anushka Sharma together. Playing the third angle in a triangle love story, Anushka was possibly the best thing about JTHJ. Bubbly, spunky and extremely effervescent, Anushka infused great energy and life in her character and stamped her authority completely over it.
