Bipasha Basu to run for breast cancer awareness

Actress Bipasha Basu has been part of several charitable and social causes. The latest is that she is participating in breast cancer awareness programmes. The actor is all set to run in a marathon for the same cause.

A source close to her confirms, “Bipasha has decided for the first time that she will be actually participating in an initiative which she supports from her heart. She has always wanted to be and has been a part of the marathons, but she has never  actively participated in them. She has cheered from the sides or has flagged off such events but has never been a participant. But the  breast cancer awareness programme has made her change her mind. Though she goes to Delhi every year and supports the marathon there, this will be the first time she will run alongside regular people. Bipasha will now run to educate people about the causes and prevention of this much-dreaded condition.” 

The actress says, “I am delighted to be part of this effort to raise awareness about breast cancer. I hope people of Mumbai support us. Breast cancer is a much neglected disease in India, most women don’t take it as seriously as they should.” 

Recently, the actress also unveiled her new look by sporting blonde hair with platinum highlights. She tweeted, “Reinvention is the key to feeling fresh and new forever! Change of hair style plays a big difference to the way you look and feel.”
